Extended Deadline - Applications for Board Members at the Sports Grounds Safety Authority
The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport is seeking to appoint 3 members of the Board of the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) to replace the current Board Members, whose terms of office come to an end over the next year.
The SGSA is the UK Government’s expert body on safety at sports grounds. It is an Arm’s Length Body funded by the Department for Culture Media and Sport.
The SGSA carries out a range of statutory functions in relation to football in England and Wales, and advisory functions in relation to other sports within the UK and internationally.
The SGSA supports sport, clubs, local authorities, architects, designers and industry to create a safe and enjoyable experience for spectators. Through trusted advice and expertise, the SGSA works in partnership to ensure the safety of spectators in sports grounds.
The Board plays a key role in establishing the strategic direction of the SGSA, ensuring it delivers against its priorities and overseeing the corporate governance of the organisation.
