The SGSA’s first conference ‘Safer Together’ will take place at the Kia Oval on Tuesday 17 March 2015.

Safer Together will address the importance of collaboration and working together for the benefit of spectators. It will bring together over 100 people from sport, local authorities, spectator representatives, architects and industry. Anyone with a responsibility for spectator safety at sports grounds will benefit from attending.

Delegates will discuss the importance of the multi-agency approach to safety, discover the latest threats to spectator safety and hear why putting spectators at the heart of the experience benefits us all.

Breakout sessions will provide delegates with an opportunity to explore topics in more depth and to seek practical advice and solutions. Sessions include a look at the issues and challenges around regulation in the 21st century, the impact of good customer service on safety and security through to insights into crowd behaviour.

Speakers include:

  • Wayne Nash, Cardiff FC
  • Ben Green, England & Wales Cricket Board
  • Mark Miles, Football Safety Officers Association
  • Danniela Wurbes, Football Supporters Europe
  • Football Supporters Federation
  • David Conn, The Guardian
