The provision of modern, well equipped, well designed and well maintained toilets is not merely a design issue. It has a direct effect on the way spectators will behave. At a time when the general public is becoming more accustomed to a high level of comfort and convenience in places of public entertainment this design guideline is intended to help stadium owners and their professional advisors meet higher standards and reap the benefits of other designers' knowledge and experience. The guide also offers advice on the difficult subject of numbers. How can a stadia cope with the half-time rush without installing an excessive number of toilets, and how should the ratio of toilets for males and females be calculated?
